Anyone outside of Ottawa wouldn't. Team Canada is STACKED with centres... even all the heart the guy has, he's not as good as Bergeron, Staal, Thornton, Marleau, Crosby, Richards. -- All of these guys either are, or can play Centre. Fish is a hell of a team guy, but he doesn't belong on THIS team.

As for Phaneuf or Green fans, I'm happy neither of them are on this team. Phaneuf isn't smart on or off the puck, and Green can wind up being a defensive liability rather quickly.

Overall, the team is relatively well balanced youth / experience, and I'm happy to see this team. It's much better than it would be with Dion 'the forehead' Phaneuf on the blue line...

looks like most of the picks were made before the season began. Not sure the San jose group of forwards with their strong history of losing is a good idea. Nobody ever mentions Zach Parise as a disapointing ommission from this team. I had him on my team. I am never sure why rick nash is so high on peoples list he is poor defensively but i suppose he is a natural winger. World championship success to me just means you have failed at your real paying job... being a NHLer. Only other name on forward I would have liked to see was burrows from Van for his all around play and hustle.

D-men are good. Green or doughty were my seventh D and neither will probably play very much anyways.

Goalies i would have left luongo and his career record of 5 games above .500 at home. Fleury and Brodeur will carry the load anyway.

A little surprised about Bergeron, but he certainly played his way onto the team...I kind of thought Jordan Staal had a better shot that Eric though, just because of the way their respective seasons were going.

The IOC should institute a rule that professional athletes not be allowed to compete in the games. Of the hundreds of thousands of kids that play in sports, only a fraction make it to the Olympic games - and then, to have the best of the professionals take those spots away? It's wrong. You make a choice - if you want to go pro and make millions, you give up your spot on the Olympic stage. Give the other kids that will never make the NHL a chance to shine.

Seabrook instead of Mike Green doesn't make sense, but other than that it's a good team.

We won't win gold though. We still have to pay for our sins, of not having some of these young guys on the Olympic team 4 years ago while a guy like Bertuzzi somehow got on the squad.

Its too bad we can't dress two teams for the Olympics. But I wonder why we can't, we can have multiple skiers, and speed skaters why not multiple teams? Canada vs. Canada in the Gold medal game, sounds good to me

Crosby may be overrated by some but he definately deserves to be on this team. Anyone making this comment has no clue what he is saying. Crosby not good enough for this team? I'm not a Pens fan either but I don't let that cloud reality
