Your reaction to Canadian hockey roster?
Wed, December 30, 2009
Team Canada GM Steve Yzerman named his roster for the men's hockey team at the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Do you like the team? Who was left off that should have been named? Have your say in our forum.

I would like to retract my comment made this evening concerning Steve Simmons column as I mixed up 2 different columns I read at different sources, and ended up taking my frustation out in this blog.

I've since re-read Mr.Simmons column on the subject and would offer my apologies.

OH Canada !!!

Congratulations to Men and Ladies Hockey teams, to all the Canadian medalists, and all Canadian athletes who participated in the 2010 Olympic games.

Also to the organizers, everyone who contributed - corporate and private, and to the volunteers...

All of you did Canada proud.

Go to our Olympic experts writing for the tabloids in Britain, and for the sore loser commie rejects that write for the Russian paper

And a Special "Pull My Finger" to Canadian Columnist Steve Simmons who

had the incredible foresight to release a column titled "Canadian Chokers" and trashing "Own The Podium" the first week of games. ( I Read it on Canoe)

Steve, hindsight is 20/20 and the predictions were that the Canucks were going to clean-up in the final week. Should have at least waited - you could've posted it during the closing ceremonies if it worked out that way.

What were you thinking???

Congratulations Canada. Great hockey game, enjoyed it, and will remember it always. See you in 2014, hope it can be as entertaining and exciting as yesterdays game. Great job and great Olympics.

I believe we made a huge mistake in the selection of both the players and the coaching staff. After all when you are fired from coaching in the NHL why would you think you could coach the National Team? Give us a break.

The Canadian Women play with heart and determination while our men play with their wallets on their mind (please don't let me get hurt and spoil my multi-million dollar payday in the NHL).

My pet peeves. If you take a look at all the other disciplines nobody is getting paid over 1 million (avg). Like any other discipline the hockey team shouldn't be made with professionel hockey player, it take everything away from the glory.

I just had to comment on Kwitter Khabibulin...we seen it in Chicago first-hand last May, when after getting the hook, he had a bad knee. We (Chicagoans) knew it was hot air when he signed with Edm...htere was no talk like, 'Hope his knee will be on?! Because tht never happened...he was peeved he was pulled and decided to the QUIT...If the Oilers COULD have asked me about sining him, I could have set them straight,,,he's a sore loser as well as a PLAIN old loser!

Pronger's lack of mobility, disciplane & speed may hurt the team; Heatley will disappear in the high intensity games.

Jordan Stall & Mike Green s/b added if injuries to announced players. Team work will be vital, no passengers

The selection committee I presume included Ken Holland, Mike Babcock and Steve Yzerman. How can anyone of us object to this group of experienced hockey people picking the best "TEAM" to give Canada a chance to win Gold?

They forgot more than most of us will ever know.

As a Habs fan I would have liked to see Cammalleri make it but, this team looks solid

and there's room for only so many.

We'll win Gold.

Go Canada !!!
Andy V., 2010-01-03 18:17:42

Whatever team had been picked someone would be left out of our lists. Truth is we are blessed with so many good players and there is no room for them all. Good luck Team Canada Hey Ho Canada Go
