Should Quebec flags be waved at the Olympics?Fri, August 8, 2008 Quebec athletes should be allowed to wave the Fleur-de-lis during the Olympic games in Beijing, Parti Quebecois Leader Pauline Marois said Friday. She called on Premier Jean Charest to fight a decision by Chinese Olympic officials to only allow flags from the 205 competing nations.
Under the rule, athletes from such regions as Quebec, Scotland and Flanders won't be able to wave local flags at any of the Olympic venues.

Instead of feeding thier push to always disrupt events and trying keep themselves separate from Canada and publishing this anti-social political prejudice, maybe we should start really looking at how the Government waste funds on petty issues. As a Canadian, i am really disgraced that we do not have a single medal yet as of this post. If we would start funding and supporting our athletes properly, then they could get the training, equipment and facilities so we can once again be a dominant medal contending nation.
We spend milliions of dollars on stop smoking campaigns and hide the smokes to discourage buying them because it is supposed to be better for our health, it is discriminating, biased and prejudice against people who wish to smoke. Well i don't see stop eating chips, candy bars and other junk food that has apparently lead to an obese society and yes lets not forget about what a hazard it is also for certain Diabetics. I have not noticed any campaign saying we should hide all of that stuff to deter people from buying it. It we would start acting like the Country we once were and actually look at our Charter, what happend to our right of choice. This is Canada people, WAKE UP!!!
