George Grey is another of Canada's cross-country skiers to make their Olympic debut at the Turin Games.

Grey has been racing full time on the World Cup circuit since the 2004-2005 season with some very impressive results, including: a 13th-place finish in Pregalto, Italy in the sprint relay; a 35th-place finish in the double pursuit, also in Pregalto; and in Kuusamo, Finland, in the 15km classic, George finished with a time of 39 minutes and 9.3 seconds resulting in a 41st place finish. That was the race that qualified him for the Turin Olympics.

Grey and teammate Devon Kershaw set a Canadian record in 2005 with an exceptional 6th-place finish in the men's sprint relay at the World Championships in Oberstdorf, Germany. Many expect this tandem to be a force to be reckoned with in Turin.

To date, Grey's only trip to the podium at the international level came at the 2004 U.S. National Championships in Rumford, Maine. There, he had his first but hopefully not last taste of a medal with a third-place finish in the 10 km classic.

The Turin Games should provide Grey with valuable experience that would come in very handy in Vancouver in four years time.
