Saskatchewan native Justin Warsylewicz represents both the present and the future of the Canadian long track speed skating team.

He'll be making his Olympic debut in Turin in 2006, where he's hoping to win a medal as part of the talented Canadian Team Pursuit squad. Having set a World Record at a race in Calgary during the 2005-06 World Cup season, the squad is looking to strike gold in Italy.

A standout in the junior ranks over the past few years, including being named the 2004 World Junior Champion, Warsylewicz realizes there are a few skaters ahead of him on the depth chart at this point in his career. However, at just 20 years of age, he is one of the young guns on a team that has the potential to capture a boatload of medals in Vancouver 2010.

Despite the fact he will only be competing in the Team Pursuit at these Games, Warsylewicz is beginning to develop into a strong long distance skater. With second and seventh place finishes in 5000m and 10000m B finals, respectively, on the World Cup circuit in 2005-06, the young skater is rapidly developing his skills.

Away from the track, Warsylewicz enjoys cycling, watching movies and listening to music.
