Vancouver-born Jeff Christie was 14th overall in Sunday's luge at Cesana Pariol.

24 hours: How did you take up luge?

Jeff Christie: "They hold summer camps (at Calgary Olympic Park) every summer. One of the sports we tried was luge and I thought it was fun and liked it. My first full year of sliding was when I was 12 years old."

24: Why not bobsleigh or skeleton?

Christie: "Luge is pretty much my only option when you're 12; bobsleigh they don't start you until 20, sometimes earlier, you want to be able to move the sled, which is pretty heavy. (Skeleton) never really appealed to me. I don't think it really appealed to my mother, either."

24: Which video game do you prefer?

Christie: "Me and a couple of my teammates play Command and Conquer a lot. You build tanks and attack your opponent and make sure you wipe him out before he wipes you out. You can play against the computer, but I enjoy playing games better when there's someone to play against."

24: Which athlete do you admire most?

Christie: "Lance Armstrong. It's one thing to get to a level, win something, go through what he went through and to stay at that level so long, but a completely different story to do it year in and year out, day in and day out. To me that's the true test of an athlete."
