Oh, brother! Glenn Howard is happy for his older brother Russ, who won an Olympic gold medal as part of Brad Gushue's Canadian men's curling team from St. John's. And, coincidentally, Glenn happened to be curling in a cashspiel the past few days in St. John's while Russ made history.

Joy of six
Scored the touchdown. Missed the convert. Canada finally won Olympic gold in men's curling at the Olympic Winter Games in a game which will be remembered for Brad Gushue having the whole house to shoot at to make it a seven-ender only to come up heavy to settle for six.

Takin' over the Team
Brad Gushue had tickets lined up to watch Canada in the gold medal hockey game Sunday. "Buggers," he said. That's one side of it. The other is that Gushue gets their stage. Media who had been planning to cover Canada in the semifinal hockey game will be scrambling for press tribune seats at curling today.
