When the green flag drops to signal the start of the first of back-to-back Honda Indy Toronto races on Saturday afternoon, Paul Tracy will be high above the action analyzing every pass, every crash and every winning, and losing, moment.

Tracy, of course, would much rather be in the centre of the action muscling his way around the 2.824-km, 11-turn Exhibition Place temporary street course, but in his new job as colour commentator for the NBC Sports Network he is happy to talk racing to a worldwide television audience.

He may no longer be the “Thrill from West Hill” but there are few in the Verizon IndyCar Series world who have as much experience at racing the nimble open-wheel cars around a race track.

Tracy has 281 starts, 31 wins, 75 podium finishes and 25 pole positions to his credit in both the CART and IndyCar series.
