The last driver to go wheel to wheel with Jacques Villeneuve at the Indianapolis 500 in an IndyCar was Scott Goodyear — and that was 19 years ago.

In two months, the pair of great Canadian race-car drivers, Goodyear from Toronto and Villeneuve from Montreal, will be back at Indianapolis Motor Speedway again, only this time Villeneuve will be trying to resurrect his past glories while Goodyear will be in the television booth as the lead analyst for ABC/ESPN.

The 1995 Indy 500 remains the only time in that race’s history where a Canadian won when Villeneuve crossed the start-finish line second but was awarded the victory when Goodyear was disqualified for passing the pace car under a yellow flag with 11 laps to go.

So who better to judge Villeneuve’s chances at another Brickyard win than Goodyear.
