By the end of the IZOD IndyCar Series season finale at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., there were only five race cars on the lead lap.

In fact, when the checkered flag flew to mark the finish of the MAVTV 500 there were only nine cars on the track period.

When it was all tallied up there were more race cars taken off the track by tow trucks, 11, than those still running.
