Gulp.

That was the sound heard throughout the NASCAR Sprint Cup garage after Jimmie Johnson won the AAA 400 at Dover International Speedway on Sunday.

It put Johnson just behind Matt Kenseth in the Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship.

And it put him in the record books — again — with his eighth win at the Monster Mile, one ahead of Cale Yarborough and Richard Petty.

More importantly it sent a message to the 12 other Chase drivers that Five Time was primed to take back what he figured was his personal possession — the Sprint Cup championship trophy.
