If there were any lingering doubts about Sebastian Vettel making it four consecutive Formula 1 world championship, they was dispelled completely after Turn 3 on the first lap of the Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Red Bull driver started on the pole and brushed off an attempt by second-place starter Nico Rosberg to out brake him in Turn 1, but went wide, allowing Vettel to get back his lead in Turn 2 and then finish it off in Turn 3.

From that moment on the race was for all intents and purposes over, and in fact, it very likely signalled that everybody else on the F-1 grid is now fighting for the runner-up spot.

Vettel leads two-time champion Fernando Alonso by 60 points and third-place Lewis Hamilton by 96 points.

And Alonso has all but conceded that his Ferrari team doesn’t have what it takes to challenge Vettel and Red Bull in spite of his second-place finish at Singapore.
