Leslie Charles Hunter was driving so recklessly at the Watsonville Ocean Speedway on Sunday that Santa Cruz cops arrested him on suspicion of DUI, according to the Santa Cruz Sentinel.
Witnesses said Hunter’s driving forced fellow racers to the side of the course while some competitors were forced off the track completely, the Sentinel reported.
Even spectators became concerned with Hunter’s erratic driving, the report stated.
Officer Jacob Gonzales told reporters he found Hunter, 64, in the pit area after he had completed the race.
Hunter was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail on DUI charges.
