TORONTO - When he was growing up in Mt. Brydges, Ont. — population 2,332 — Cole Pearn had always felt he would end up with a career racing cars.

His father Ron was, and is, a local legend at nearby Delaware Speedway where he has too numerous Hobby Car wins to count at the half-mile oval.

As a youngster Cole Pearn raced GoKarts around Ontario and in the U.S. with some success.

He graduated to stock cars and spent three seasons racing in the old CASCAR series, the predecessor to today’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series that starts its season this weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.
