Prior to the start of the Spanish Grand Prix on Sunday almost every team geared their strategy to conserving tires.

All that is, except Ferrari and their No. 1 driver Fernando Alonso.

From the moment the lights went out at Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Alonso was in attack mode gaining three spots on the grid before the first lap was in the books.

Saving his Pirelli tires was a definitely second to winning at home in front of a grandstand full to capacity of his adoring fans.
