The 2102 NASCAR Sprint Cup season for Kyle Busch was a nightmare to say the least.

His performance so far this season, however, is almost he complete reversal and it showed this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway where Busch was the class of the grid from the moment the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota was rolled off the truck.

It was evident from the drop of the green flag.

Certainly Busch had a strong, fast car all night long at TMS, but the thing that put the No. 18 Toyota in Victory Lane was the 12 second pit stop with 20 laps to go.

“As soon as that (final) caution came, my boys stepped up to the plate and hit a grand slam,” Busch said. “So that was really, really cool that they hit an 11.7 on (crew chief) Dave’s (Rogers) watch.

“You give me the lead with just 20 laps to go and it feels really good.”
