Johnny Boychuk is still trying to wrap his head around everything that has happened to him this summer.

The local product is basking in the glow of winning the Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins, he got married earlier this month, has just returned from his honeymoon and will be the parade marshal for the Edmonton Indy.

Oh, and he still has a party to plan as his day with the Stanley Cup coming up later this month.

Everything has happened so fast that I havent really had time to think about it, said Boychuk. I still dont know what Im going to go with my day with the Cup.

Im pretty sure by the time Ive planned the party, the cup will be here and then itll be time for training camp again, so you really dont have time to think about anything.

For the moment, all Boychuk has to worry about is enjoying the weekend at the race track and preparing to utter the famous Gentlemen start your engines phrase on Sunday.

I hope I dont screw up that line, laughed Boychuk. If I do, itll probably be on a lot of highlight reels.

Boychuck is following in the footsteps of past grand marshals such as Wayne Gretzky, Craig MacTavish, Gene Simmons and Kevin Martin.

I got a call from the NHLPA and they asked me if I was interested in being the grand marshal of the parade, Boychuk said. It was an easy answer. I thought it was pretty cool that they asked me.

Im not a huge race fan, but Ive come to the Edmonton Indy every year.
