Hamilton, Stewart may swap cars

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Talks are under way to have Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton and NASCAR champion Tony Stewart exchange race cars for a demonstration at Watkins Glen International this summer.
According to a report by ESPN on Sunday the pair would re-create the famous 2003 “Tradin’ Paint” show at Indianapolis Motor Speedway when NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon swapped his No. 24 Chevrolet with Juan Pablo Montoya’s then F-1 Williams FW24.
Many feel to this day that it was that show that eventually convinced Montoya to bolt F-1 in favour of NASCAR.
The Watkins Glen deal, where Stewart would drive a McLaren-Mercedes MP4-25 and Lewis would drive the No. 14 Stewart Haas Racing Chevrolet, could take place just before or just after the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal in mid-June.
The whole made-for-television package is apparently being promoted by Mobil1, a major backer of both Lewis and Stewart.
