Busch wins Phoenix Nationwide race all the way
By DEAN McNULTY, QMI Agency

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Kyle Busch was victorious in his second NASCAR race of the weekend when he won the Nationwide Series Bashas Supermarkets 200 Saturday in dominating fashion leading every lap in the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Only Carl Edwards in the No. 99 Roush-Fenway Racing Ford — was close.

Busch set himself up for a rare triple with a chance to win the Sprint Cup Subway Fresh Fit 500 on Sunday.

The 25-year-old Las Vegas native had already won Friday’s NASCAR Camping World Truck race.

Edwards finished second and Kevin Harvick was third in the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. Chevrolet.

Five of the first six cars that started the race at Phoenix International Speedway were regular Sprint Cup drivers, none of whom were eligible for points under NASCAR’s new rule that allows drivers to race for the championship in only one of its top three divisions.

Danica Patrick started the race 20th in the No. 7 JR Motorsports Chevrolet and ended up 17th — three laps down to the winner.

The lone Canadian in the race, Daryl Harr, of Edmonton started 34th in the No. 52 WestWorld.com Chevrolet and finished 35th.

Do you think the officiating has been fair in the Kings-Sharks series?
  Yes
  No
No ... but the refs seem to be evening it out themselves
