Protests in Bahrain cancels F1 practice
By Sports Network

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- Formula One canceled practice for the upcoming GP2 Asia Series race in Bahrain on Thursday due to anti- governement protests.

The protests left four people dead overnight, prompting Formula One to cancel all track activity until Friday at the Bahrain International Circuit.

The website for the race stated that medical staff normally stationed at the circuit have been temporary called to the city's hospitals in case of an emergency.

The season-opening race for Fromula One, the GP2 is scheduled to start on March 13 with F1 workers due to be in Bahrain 10 days earlier.
