Full floor finally for Roughnecks

CALGARY - The Calgary Roughnecks should have a full workforce for their semifinal clash with the Washington Stealth.
Four key contributors — Scott Carnegie, Dane Dobbie, Andrew McBride and Jeff Shattler — returned to the Riggers’ lineup for Saturday’s 10-6 victory over the Colorado Mammoth in first-round action at the Saddledome.
Missing, though, was offensive assistant coach Curt Malawsky, a longtime National Lacrosse League forward and now the brains behind Calgary’s high-powered attack.
After welcoming a baby boy Friday, he skipped the quarterfinal tilt to stay home with his family. He’ll be back behind the bench for next Saturday’s date with the Stealth.
“Not having Curt there, in some respects, it was a motivator for the guys, too” said Roughnecks head coach Dave Pym. “They all knew why he wasn’t there and appreciated it and understood it, and they wanted to get a win for him so they could get him in for next weekend, as well.
“He’s been a big part of our success this year and this definitely is a family affair.”
