EDMONTON - Forget a dish ó he might as well be the main course.
At least, thatís how Edmonton Rush head coach Derek Keenan feels about goaltender Matt Disherís importance to his teamís push towards the NLL playoffs.
ďIíve said all along with Dish, heís been a streaky goalie all year and at this time last year he got hot again,Ē Keenan said, referring to an incredible 60-save performance against the Calgary Roughnecks in the franchiseís first playoff victory in 2010.
The goalie agreed.
ďThis is where you have to focus a bit more. When you have a lot of bad breaks earlier in the season and the teamís trying to figure out the best way to get things done, everybody has to dial it up a notch,Ē Disher said.
ďItís more about playing with a little bit of desperation, being a little more aggressive. I think sometimes we lay back a little too much.
ďAs a goalie, itís usually a case of you going as your team goes.
ďThe biggest thing I find is itís a team effort. If the defence doesnít give them a lot of easy looks, itís going to make it a lot easier for me.Ē
