The Edmonton Rush is on the road, but Gavin Prout will feel right at home.

The recent Rush acquisition will be back in Colorado to play against his former Mammoth teammates on opening-season weekend, following a stop in Everett to play the Washington Stealth tonight.

'BACK-TO-BACK'

"It's going to be difficult going back," admitted Prout, "I think the main reason is it's a back-to-back game, it's the second of two. It will be a little tiring and going back into that atmosphere, it can drain an opposing team.

"I've played there for the past five years and I have some fans there still, I guess - I'm hoping that they haven't turned on me quite yet. I'll have mixed emotions about going into it. I enjoyed Denver, the organization was great to me, the players are all still my friends.

"So it will be a little difficult that way but at the same time I've turned a new page in my book of lacrosse and this new chapter is with the Rush and I'm looking forward to picking up two wins on the road to start off.

'SHORT PRESEASON'

"It was a very short preseason," Prout said. "You're only allowed so many practices and right now we kind of bunched our practices up into a few weekends here and there."

And the Rush only had one exhibition game prior to heading into the regular season.

"It will be tough, especially with this team, specifically, where 75% of the team is brand new, the coaches are new, the system's new, so there are a lot of things that you have to go over opposed to a seasoned team that is used to each other and the same systems," he said. "They just have to practise and get back into the swing of things and get into shape again."
