Shattler fine with any role

Jeff Shattler isn't about to get fussy.

Offence, defence, transition ... the Calgary Roughnecks' jack-of-all-trades insists he's ready for anything.

"I'm not too sure what the coaches have in mind," Shattler shrugged. "Whatever they say goes. I'm ready to go wherever they want me. Doesn't matter to me."

Shattler, 25, was named to the NLL's West Division all-star squad last year as a transition specialist, but also chipped in on defence and contributed 13 goals at the other end of the floor.

There has been rumblings Shattler, who played plenty of offence with the Victoria Shamrocks on the summer circuit, would be spending more time on the attack this season, but that's news to him.

As long as his No. 77 is pencilled into the lineup, he'll line up at any position.

"We have an incredible offence right now, and we don't want to mess up anything," he said. "There's no use trying to fix something that's not broken. We've got a great offence and a great defence, so I really don't care where I play."
