Riggers name Kelusky, Sanderson franchise players
By SUN MEDIA

Calgary Roughnecks president and GM Brad Banister announced captain Tracey Kelusky and fellow teammate Josh Sanderson have been named the franchise players for the 2010 NLL season.

As franchise players, neither Kelusky nor Sanderson will be eligible for free agency, guaranteeing their stay in Calgary through the 2010 season.

Each player will also receive the league's veteran maximum salary, plus an additional 25% for being declared the team's franchise players.

Each team in the league was able to qualify up to two players for the franchise player tag.

Kelusky, 33, a native of Peterborough, Ont., tallied 84 points, including 31 goals and 53 assists in 16 regular-season games last season.

Sanderson, a 32-year-old from Orangeville, Ont., led the Roughnecks in points in both the regular season and during the playoffs.

Sanderson was originally acquired in a blockbuster trade with Toronto in March of 2008, in exchange for forward Lewis Ratcliff.
