Rush pull out big road win

The Edmonton Rush were able to come away with a split from their two-game road trip this weekend.

Last night the Rush defeated the Colorado Mammoth 11-9 at the Pepsi Center to improve their National Lacrosse League record to 2-2 on the season.

"We got off to a really good start," said Rush head coach and GM Bob Hamley. "We also got off to a good start in the third and were able to hold on in the fourth."

Ryan Benesch led the way for the Rush with three goals and five assists in the contest, while Dan Teat had three goals and four assists.

Andy Secore also scored a pair of goals, while Scott Self added the other.

Chris Levis earned the win in goal, turning aside 43 shots in the contest.

"He was really the story in the game," Hamley said. "He was exceptional."

The Rush took a 7-4 lead into the half-time break, then were up four goals going into the fourth quarter.

This week the Rush host Buffalo on Thursday and are in San Jose on Saturday.
