The Roughnecks (5-4) haven't played since Feb. 24 when they beat the Toronto Rock 17-13 at the Air Canada Centre. The victory came the night after Calgary fired head coach Chris Hall. Jeff Dowling, a former assistant with the 'Necks, takes over the reins as bench boss tonight.

The Sting (6-3) last suited up March 2 against the expansion Chicago Shamrox, a game Arizona won 11-7.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This is the first of three games between the two clubs. They will meet again next Saturday at the Saddledome (7:30 p.m.) and again Friday, April 13 in the Desert.

Last season, the Roughnecks won the three-game series, winning at home and in Glendale.

WHO'S HOT

ROUGHNECKS -- In Calgary's last game against the Rock Feb. 24, starting G Andrew Leyshon was the difference, stopping 52 shots.

STING -- F Dan Dawson had eight points (5g, 3a) against the Shamrox March 2.
