Let me entertain you ...

Edmonton Rush president Duane Vienneau knows that in the end, it's about the product on the floor.

But that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun along the way.

"We know that if people come to a lacrosse game, they usually fall in love with it," Vienneau said. "One of our strategies is to give people a reason to test our product. And if they test our product, they usually fall in love with it and ultimately become fans of the sport of lacrosse."

The Rush held a number of promotional events last year.

Game-day shows included guest appearances by model Brooke Burke and the Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders.

It was all a part of the glitz and glamour unique to the NLL.

This year Dennis Rodman and the Trailer Park Boys are on the bill. "We're trying to really make sure we have a winner on the floor and we want to make sure that our show off the floor is the same thing," Vienneau said.

"We really spent a lot of time at the end of the season surveying our fans and trying to find out what they liked and what they didn't like. Now we're trying to fine-tune it and give fans what they really want."

Tomorrow, to kick things off, the Rush will introduce their Von Dutch Kustom Chopper at the season opener against the Philadelphia Wings.

"We were a team that was 0-8 last year and we still averaged over 10,000 people," Vienneau said. "Most teams with that home record wouldn't have that kind of attendance."
