The Rock wasn't involved in yesterday's blockbuster National Lacrosse League trade, but Toronto fans certainly will recognize the players that were.

The offensively challenged Edmonton Rush made a bold move to acquire some scoring by grabbing veterans Dan Stroup, Chris Gill and Ryan O'Connor from the expansion Chicago Shamrox in exchange for forwards Mat Giles and Jason Clark plus a first-round pick in September's entry draft.

Stroup, Gill and O'Connor won championships with the Rock in 1999 and 2000, while Giles was traded to Edmonton by Toronto last season.

The departed players were selected by Chicago in Thursday's NLL expansion draft.

Stroup and Gill, a former 53-goal scorer, helped lead the Colorado Mammoth to the Champions Cup and along with ex 20-goal man O'Connor, will improve a rush team that scored an NLL-worst 150 times in its first season.
