Game over
By DARREN FRIESEN -- Calgary Sun

SUN THREE STARS:

1. Pat Campbell, Rush -- The Edmonton goalie made more than a dozen highlight reel saves and stopped 54 shots while backstopping the Rush to its first victory in franchise history.

2. Jamey Bowen, Rush -- Picked up two goals and two assists.

3. Grant Hamilton, Roughnecks -- Showed tons of grit on both ends of the floor, plus pitched in with a rare goal.

- - -

GOAL OF THE GAME:

Rush F Jamey Bowen first made a nice swim move on a Calgary defender then put a nifty low backhanded bounce shot that Roughies G Curtis Palidwor still hasn't seen.

- - -

SAVE OF THE GAME:

Rush goaltender Pat Campbell came up with his biggest save early on. The first-year starter turned away a point-blank shot from Calgary D Ryan McNish but then turned away another by T Andrew Biers.

- - -

FIGHT CARD:

It took more time for Riggers D Ryan McNish and Rush D Chris Stachniak to kick their gloves and helmets out of the way than it did for the actual fight to last. Give this one to McNish, who threw four huge haymakers connecting on all of them and knocking Stachniak out.

- - -

NOTABLES:

Calgary's T Andrew Biers collected his first goal of the season ... F Tracey Kelusky ended the Riggers' short-handed goal drought at 13:30 of the second quarter ... Roughnecks T Ryan Marshall, F Matt Green, F Callum Crawford and D Rob Williams were healthy scratches.
