The National Lacrosse League will field 11 teams for the 2006 season.

The league announced last night Edmonton and Portland will be the only two new teams for next season, while the Anaheim Storm have suspended operations and will sit out 2006.

The Storm, which struggled at the gate with dismal attendance below 4,000 at the Arrowhead Pond, had moved from New Jersey two seasons ago.

The NLL will hold a dispersal draft to liquidate the Storm roster with the two new clubs choosing first and second. The Calgary Roughnecks, who lost in the semifinals of the playoffs this year, will select seventh.
