As a young American lacrosse player, Casey Powell always dreamed of showcasing his talents in front of a national television audience. He just never thought he'd have to come to Calgary to do it.

Nonetheless, the native of Newport Beach, Calif., will be one of the 18 Western Division all-stars to suit up in the annual NLL selects game, which will be beamed across North American courtesy of NBC.

"My town is all getting together to watch it and they're going to have a party for me in one of local bars," said Powell, who has 14 points (6g, 8a) this season for the Anaheim Storm. "It's one of the bigger lacrosse events in the history of the game. I'm excited to come up here to a great town and I know the crowd will show up."

With the tilt reaching a huge audience, Powell, 29, says there will be added pressure to perform and showcase the game.

"Everybody really has something to prove. We all want to show what type of players we are and what kind of game it is."
