The NLL on NBC?

Sources say the National Lacrosse League is close to a deal with NBC, which would have the American network carry live broadcasts of the all-star game and the championship game.

American national television exposure has been a priority for commissioner Jim Jennings and this deal would be a huge PR boost for the 10-team league.

Jennings refused comment on NBC negotiations, but he wasn't shy about talking about his hopes for Canadian expansion. The league is down to two Canadian teams -- the Rock and Calgary Roughnecks -- after teams folded in Montreal, Ottawa and Vancouver.

Edmonton, Vancouver, Montreal, Winnipeg, and possibly London, are on Jennings' radar screen. He has had preliminary talks with NHL teams in Edmonton, Vancouver and Montreal.

"I am concerned about (the loss of Canadian teams)," Jennings said. "My goal is to have four teams in Canada operating within two years. But we're not going to rush. We need the right (partners) -- NHL or CFL teams."
