Calgary Roughnecks majority owner Brad Banister now has one less hat to wear.

Banister, who also served as the president and GM for his defending National Lacrosse League champion team, handed the GM's role to Riggers' director of player personnel Dave Bremner yesterday.

"I need to free up more time to spend with my two boys," said Banister.

"It's been a long, tough haul running this club and it's about time for me to enjoy the thrills of being an owner."

Bremner, a Victoria native, sports an impressive lacrosse resume that includes stints as both a player and assistant coach with the Riggers before taking over his most recent role overseeing player personnel the last two seasons.

He was the point man for the team in last year's draft when they selected rookie of the year Taylor Wray second overall.

"This a great opportunity for me and I feel absolutely awesome about it," said Bremner.

Banister said he and Bremner are currently working on three deals and he will officially step aside when they are completed.
