TORONTO -- Call it Vincent Lecavalier's coming out party. The Canadian centre recorded seven points -- including the game-winning goal in overtime against the Czech Republic in the semi-finals -- and was named the World Cup's most valuable player after his team's 3-2 win over Finland in the final last night.

TORONTO -- The last time the kid from Halkirk, Alberta, heard them chant "Doan! Doan! Doan!'' was when the crowd in Edmonton chanted his name at the 1995 NHL entry draft. Then they booed. That was when Glen Sather picked Steve Kelly instead of him.

T.O. street party takes nasty turn
Fans flooded the streets of Toronto last night and painted the town red and white following Team Canada's victory at the World Cup of Hockey. Tens of thousands spilled out of the Air Canada Centre, downtown bars and their homes, turning Yonge St. upside down as they partied into the morning to celebrate Canada's 3-2 win over Finland.
