Norway rolled to a 5-0 win over Austria to earn a spot in the qualification round at the World Ice Hockey Championship.

Mathis Olimb notched a goal and four assists for the Norwegians, who stunned Sweden with an overtime win to start Group C play before dropping a 4-2 decision to the United States on Monday. Austria was outscored 13-1 in losing each of its three preliminary round games and will play in the relegation round.

The United States and Sweden will play later Wednesday with first place in Group C at stake. The Americans need only one point to earn the top spot.

Denmark reached the qualification round with a 3-2 shootout win against Latvia on Wednesday. The Danes and Latvians each finished Group D play with two points, but Denmark will advance because of the head-to-head victory and Latvia will play in the relegation round as the fourth-place finisher in the group.
