No medal for Canadian under-18 team
By QMI Agency

Canada finished out of the medals at the world under-18 hockey championship, losing 6-4 to Russia in the bronze-medal game Sunday in Crimmitschau, Germany.

Russia's Nail Yakupov, who plays for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL, scored three times, including an empty-netter with four seconds left that clinched it. Yakupov also scored shorthanded in the second period, when Russia scored four unanswered goals to erase a 2-1 Canadian lead.

Brett Ritchie, Ryan Murphy, Alan Quine and Ryan Murray scored for Canada, which hasn't won gold at the under-18 worlds since 2008 and was seventh in 2010. Andrew D'Agostini made 27 saves for Canada.

Nikita Kucherov and Vladimir Tkachev had the other goals for Russia. Andrei Vasilevski was outstanding in net for the Russians, turning aside 38 shots.
