Team Canada captain Shane Doan may have scored the winning goal against Norway at the world hockey championships yesterday, but that didn't stop some Liberal and Bloc Quebecois MPs from calling on the government to rip the "C" off the Phoenix Coyote star's jersey.

Doan was accused of making slurs against francophone officials during an NHL game in 2005. The league investigated and he was not punished.

During Question Period yesterday, Bloc MP Luc Malo and Liberal Quebec MP Marcel Proulx demanded the Conservatives use the $3.2 million in tax dollars Hockey Canada receives a year as leverage to get a new captain.
