CALGARY - The foundation was laid some eight months ago. The structure of the team, that was formed through the summer and fall months.

Now, it’s up to Kevin Dineen to use those building blocks to put the finishing touches on Sochi gold for Canada’s national women’s hockey team.

Dineen was introduced by Hockey Canada as the team’s head coach Tuesday, just days after former bench boss Dan Church unexpectedly stepped down from the position as the 2014 Sochi games loom.

The 50-year-old Quebec City native, recently turfed from the head coaching gig with the Florida Panthers, was part of a whirlwind process to fill the vacant position that began last Friday
