OTTAWA - For two weeks, the women that have been the mosaic, the heart and soul, of Team Canada became one.

And as they stood on the blueline after the gold-medal game of the women's world hockey championship Tuesday night, they felt the moment together. Tears and hugs. Everything came out on that Scotiabank Place battleground -- they had thrown everything they could at their mirror image -- the mighty U.S. team.

The game was intense. Physical. Fast. Oh, and add a big one. Emotional -- in front of an electric crowd.
