Rival loop sues WHA
By Toronto Sun Staff
The World Hockey Association's attempt at a revival has been complicated by a lawsuit launched in Florida.
Orlando Professional Hockey, owner of the minor league Seals franchise, is seeking damages from the WHA stemming from who has the the right to play out of the Orlando Centroplex for the 2004-05 season.
The WHA eyed Orlando as a possible location before a series of setbacks in other cities brought it to the brink of collapse last week.
There is a slight chance that a new ownership group might take control of the WHA as a single entity.
