Youth hockey is again under the microscope in Winnipeg after an altercation during a game of 12-year-olds on Sunday.

A YouTube video of the incident has been circulated and shows one player from both teams pushing each other before a referee steps in. In attempting to separate the players, the referee falls hard on top of one of the players, which leads to an official with the team leaving the bench and coming on to the ice to approach the referee and the player.

The description of the video on YouTube indicates it is a game between teams from Sagkeeng First Nation and Brokenhead Ojibway Nation.

Winnipeg police have confirmed they are investigating the incident, which continued off ice as well. Police say they have other video to review as well as surveillance cameras.
