TORONTO - Many would have happily voted for Wayne Gretzky as prime minister of Canada when he was ruling the NHL with the Edmonton Oilers.

But the Great One as president of the Maple Leafs?

“Absolutely not true,” a source said on Tuesday night.

Bob McCown of the The Fan 590 floated the idea on Twitter that there’s “buzz” about Gretzky becoming the Leafs’ next president. While it may have been discussed internally, there have been no overtures made to Gretzky from those at MLSE.

Would Seattle be a good city for the NHL to relocate to?
Yes, it'd be a great market.
  Maybe, who knows.
No, they should go to Quebec instead.
