HALIFAX - The Dalhousie University women's hockey team has dropped the gloves over the cancellation of their season after a hazing scandal the school said involved booze and bullying.

The school benched the squad this month after the initiations of rookie players came to light.

Thursday, members of the Dalhousie Tigers said the newbies were sent on a scavenger hunt to suss out sardines, hot peppers and whipped cream and later ate their trove, but nobody was forced to do it.

Are you surprised Don Cherry backed Daniel Alfredsson's comments?
  Yes.
  No.
It's Don Cherry - who knows what he will say.
  Not sure.
