Investigators demand media footage of Vancouver riot

VANCOUVER - Four months after the Stanley Cup riot, police are demanding news outlets hand over photo and video footage of the downtown mayhem.
“This is an important step in the investigation to ensure all images are collected and rioters held accountable,” said Insp. Les Yeo.
The warrants, also known as production orders, were issued Wednesday to local news outlets. 24 hours wasn't issued a warrant.
Vancouver investigators are in Indianapolis to meet with forensic analysts from across North America and the U.K. and examine more than 1,600 hours of vide evidence.
Yeo said the team will return with what he expects will be “hundreds of images of suspected rioters” that will be added to the riot identification website.
“If you participated in the riot and thought you got away with it, you’re mistaken,” the inspector warned.
The riot investigation team is “on track to deliver 40 charges to Crown by Oct. 31,” according to the statement released Wednesday.
