Damphousse facing assault charges
By QMI Agency

MONTREAL -- Former NHLer Vincent Damphousse was arraigned Thursday on six counts of assault against his wife, Allana Henderson.

Damphousse, 43, didn't appear in court but was represented by a lawyer. He is to appear again in July.

The assaults are alleged to have taken place throughout 2008, on Oct. 3, 2010, and March 19, 25 and 29, 2011.

Damphousse helped the Montreal Canadiens win the Stanley Cup in 1993 before moving to the San Jose Sharks during the 1998-99 season.

Damphousse started his career with the Toronto Maple Leafs after being drafted in the first round in 1986. He also played with the Edmonton Oilers. He retired in 2004.
