Canada advanced to the semi-finals of the Spengler Cup in dramatic fashion Wednesday.
Micki Dupont scored a power-play goal 3:20 into overtime to give Canada a 4-3 win over Sparta Prague in the quarter-finals of the annual tournament in Davos, Switzerland, setting up a showdown with host HC Davos Thursday.
Dupont's goal came 25 seconds after Prague was whistled for having too many men on the ice.
Prague sent the game to overtime on David Vyborny's power-play goal late in the second period. Emanuel Peter had Prague's other two goals.
J.P. Vigier, Domenic Pittis and Brendan Bell also tallied for Canada. Cory Murphy had three assists.
Switzerland's Geneve-Servette downed Spartak Moscow 2-0 in quarter-final play and will face SKA St. Petersburg of Russia in the other semi Thursday.
The final will be played Friday.
