TORONTO - Olympic gold medallist Kristi Yamaguchi and her NHL husband Bret Hedican are weighing in on the CBC-TV reality show, "Battle of the Blades."

Yamaguchi, a 1992 U.S. Olympic champion, and the recently retired Hedican, who won a Stanley Cup in 2006 with the Carolina Hurricanes, will join the judges' table to provide a combined score on Sunday's performance episode.

They'll join regular judges Sandra Bezic and Dick Button in rating the prowess of seasoned figure skaters that are paired with former hockey players for the weekly skate-off.

Producers say all four judges will decide which of the bottom two ranking pairs - as determined by viewer votes - gets iced on Monday's results show.

Four pairs remain, including: Shae-Lynn Bourne and Claude Lemieux, Marie-France Dubreuil and Stephane Richer, Christine Hough-Sweeney and Tie Domi, Jamie Sale and Craig Simpson.

This time around, competitors will be skating to songs inspired by movies and musicals.
