OHA to impose suspensions
By JIM CRESSMAN, SUN MEDIA

The OHA has strengthened its stand on fighting with a graduated suspension policy that takes effect in 2009-10.

A player who engages in a third fight in a season will receive a one-game suspension. After a fourth fight, it's two games; after a fifth fight, three games; and following that (a sixth fight) an indefinite suspension that will require the player to show why he should be allowed to continue playing in the OHA.

A player currently receives a game misconduct for fighting at all levels.

The OHA has also adopted the OHL helmet rule where a player is ejected and receives a one-game suspension for removing his helmet or loosening his chinstrap to fight; or does the same with an opponent's helmet.

Do you think Coyotes players should be punished for their actions after the team’s Game 5 loss to the Kings?
