Don't rule out the Rangers dealing C Scott Gomez, who is making $8 million this season. His no-movement clause isn't exactly iron-clad. He is only allowed to submit a list of three teams "to which the player does not consent to be traded." If the Rangers inform Gomez they're working on a deal, he has only three days to provide the list and he's not allowed to be moved to any of those three teams the rest of the season. The Rangers considered sending Gomez to the Canucks had Sundin decided to sign with New York.
